Brad photographed a Water Thick-Knee (Burhinus vermiculatus) standing on the shoreline of the Zambezi River above Victoria Falls the morning of August 25, 2012. We were out on an early morning boat trip to bird and look for big game in the National Park areas along the shoreline. Temperatures on this sunny day were in the upper 60's. The whitish-gray wing-bar is edged in black. The iris and legs are an olive-yellow color. This species is typically found near water.
