After returning from our boat trip to bird along the shorline areas of Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park on the Zambezi River above Victoria Falls, Joanne and I joined our VENT guide, Geoff, for some additional birding on the grounds of The Royal Livingstone Hotel. Brad photographed a Yellow-breasted Apalis (Apalis flavida) that was foraging in some shrubbery on the bank below us. Temperatures on this sunny day (August 25, 2012) were in the low 80's. The gray head, reddish-orange iris, white throat and belly, yellow breast, and olive upperparts are visible in the photo. The black central breast-bar is present in this individual.
