After Zodiac cruising in Paradise Bay on December 23, 2006, the Clipper Adventurer headed down the Lemaire Channel. This was the most scenic and narrow channel of our voyage. The channel is seven miles long and averages one mile wide. The weather here was sunny with temperatures in the high 30's to low 40's. Absolutely perfect weather! We didn't get to stop at Peterman Island because the channel was filled with huge icebergs that blocked our path. However, the scenery along the part that we did traverse was spectacular. We were on the bow of the ship when this pod of about twenty Orca was spotted.
