This is a photograph of a "White Nellie," a white morph of the Southern Giant-Petrel. The Northern Giant-Petrel does not have a white morph form. We were walking along the shore in the Gold Harbour area on the morning of December 31, 2006, when we took this picture. The temperature was in the low 30's with light snow showers.
