Because of weather conditions, we still had not found a place to see Macaroni Penguins. Our captain stopped at Elsehul Bay on the northern coast of South Georgia for a twilight Zodiac cruise (our nineteenth Zodiac trip) on the evening of January 1, 2007. The temperature was in the mid-40's. The hillocks were full of nesting seabirds and the ever present fur seal.
