This photograph was taken early in the morning as we hiked along a trail near the Bird's Eye View Lodge in Belize. Temperatures were in the mid-70's on this cloudy morning with heavy, intermittent rain. We saw two types of cashew trees. One produced a red fruit, the other, pictured here, produced a yellow fruit. The red produced a sweeter fruit. The nut hangs below and external to the fruit. The cashew jam sold at the lodge was delicious. Too bad we didn't buy more to bring home!
