Brad photographed this Chalk-browed Mockingbird outside our hotel, the Tulip Inn São Jose dos Pinhais in Curitiba, Brazil, early in the morning on October 5, 2011. We were heading to the highlands of the Serra da Graciosa for a morning of birding. The Chalk-browed Mockingbird has grayish-brown upperparts and brownish-buff colored underparts. It has a conspicuous white supercilium and a distinct blackish postocular streak. Temperatures were in the mid-60's on this partly cloudy morning.
