After lunch on October 4, 2011, we birded the open field near the dining hall at Reserva Volta Velha. Brad photographed this Gray-capped Tyrannulet, a Brazilian endemic, as it perched in a nearby tree. The bird has a grayish-colored head, throat and breast. It has yellow flanks, two yellowish wingbars, and a prominent supercilium. Temperatures were in the low 80's on this partly cloudy day.
