After leaving Bariqui Park in Curitiba on the afternoon of October 6, 2011, we had a late afternoon lunch. Post-lunch birding consisted of a trip to the Zoo-botanical Park in Curitiba to look for specialities (wild, not domesticated). This is a photo of a male caged Harpy Eagle. This bird seemed pretty content. There was a female with him in the cage. This pair was the third and fourth that we've seen in captivity. The first was in Panama (bird was aggressive), and the second was in Honduras (bird killed its mate). Temperatures were in the 80's on this sunny afternoon.
