During the morning of October 10, 2011, we birded the escarpment at Colinhas do São Francisco near our hotel, the Hotel Veraneio Hampel, in São Francisco de Paula. The Rufous-crowned Greenlet (Hylophilus poicilotis) was just taking flight from its perch when Brad took this photo. The bird has dusky ear coverts and a rufous crown. Temperatures were in the 60's on this partly cloudy morning with intermittent rain and fog.
