After lunch in Morretes, a small historic city on the coast of the Brazilian state of Paraná, we drove to Superagüi National Park. This park is located on the northern shore of Paraná State in southern Brazil and contains the Serra do Mar Costal Forests and the Ilha Grande Mangroves. Superagüi is part of the largest continuous stretch of intact Atlantic Rainforest. We went here late in the afternoon on October 5, 2011, to see the Red-tailed Amazon Parrot and the Scarlet Ibis (Eugocimus ruber. We took a motorboat to visit several near shore islands where the ibis is known to roost each evening. Brad took this photograph of several ibises coming in to roost from our boat (we stayed offshore). Temperatures were in the low 70's.
