During the afternoon of October 9, 2011, we birded around the picnic area near the Visitor's Center at Itaimbezinho Canyon in Aparados da Serra National Park. The park is near Cambará do Sul (a municipality in the state Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil). This is a photograph of a White-collard Swift (Streptoprocne zonaris) with its all dark body and white collar. This large swift has a shallowly forked tail. Temperatures were in 80's on this partly cloudy, humid day.
