After leaving Bariqui Park in Curitiba on the afternoon of October 6, 2011, we had a late afternoon lunch. Post-lunch birding consisted of a trip to the Zoo-botanical Park in Curitiba. This is a photo of a pair of White-faced Whistling Ducks (Dendrocygna viduata). This duck has a white face and crown, a black-colored rear head, barred, underparts, and a chestnut colored throat and breast. The black bill is tipped in blue. Temperatures were in the 80's on this sunny afternoon.
