We took this photograph of a White-spotted Woodpecker during the morning of October 4, 2011, while hiking the main forest trail at Reserva Volta Vehla. The back of this woodpecker is a dark olive-green and yellowish color with whitish barring and spotting. It has a brown cap and a long white supercilium. Temperatures were in the 80's on this cloudy, overcast morning.
