Brad photographed this Black-and-white Hawk-Eagle, Spizaetus melanoleucus, during a morning visit on October 18, 2011, to the lowlands near Pereque in Brazil. Upperparts and crown are black while the nape and underparts are white. The eyes, cere, and feet are a bright yellow color. Temperatures were in the upper 70's on this cloudy day.
