Brad photographed this Black-capped Foliage-Gleaner, Philydor atricapillus, while we were birding the lowlands near Pereque in Brazil on October 18, 2011. The eye and the markings surrounding it are characteristics used to ID this species. The head is black, upperparts are a dark brownish-cinnamon, and underparts are a paler cinnamon color. Temperatures were in the upper 70's on this partly cloudy morning.
