Brad photographed this female Brazilian Ruby (Clytolaema rubricauda), a Brazilian endemic, feeding at one of the feeders on the back balcony of the Hotel do Ype's restaurant early in the morning on October 20, 2011. Underparts and outer rectrices are cinnamon-colored. Upperparts are an iridescent emerald green color. The white post-ocular spot is evident in this female. Temperatures were in the 60's on this partly cloudy day. Itatiaia National Park is situated on the shoulders of the Serra Mantiqueria, a range of mountains that straddles the states of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
