We drove from REGUA (Reserva Ecológica de Guapiaçu) to Nova Friburgo and on to Sumidouro during the latter part of the morning of October 23, 2011. We spent several hours here birding and having a picnic lunch. This Guatemalan cracker, Hamadryas guatemalena, was perched on some dry foliage. Temperatures were in the low 70's on this partly cloudy afternoon.
