This photograph of a side view of a Chalk-browed Mockingbird (Mimus saturninus) was taken while we were birding Intervales State Park in Brazil on October 12, 2011. Upperparts are brownish with brownish-buff colored underparts. A blackish post ocular streak is highlighted by a broad white supercilium. Temperatures on this cloudy morning with intermittent rain were in the 60's. Intervales State Park is located on a 3,300 foot high escarpment in the State of São Paulo in the Paranapiacaba mountain range/upper Ribeira Valley, southwest of the city of São Paulo and north of Curitiba.
