Brad photographed this Crescent-chested Puffibrd, Malacoptila striata, while we were birding the lowlands near Pereque on October 18, 2011. This Brazilian endemic has a multicolored breast band (white, black, and buffy). Upperparts are dark brown with heavy streaking. Underparts are a light brownish-gray. Temperatures were in the upper 70's on this cloudy morning.
