Brad photographed this Dusky-legged Guan, Penelope obscura, on the side of the road near the Hotel do Ype's restaurant early in the morning on October 20, 2011. Features that can be used to identify this species are bright red eyes and dewlap (throat wattle) and whitish edging on the wing coverts and mantle. Temperatures were in the 60's on this partly cloudy day.
