Brad photographed this Cicada (Proarna gianuca sp. nov.) during a morning visit on October 18, 2011, to the lowlands near Pereque in Brazil. This new species was described by Allen Sanborn in 2008. Temperatures were in the upper 70's on this cloudy day.
