This photograph shows a red-flowered ginger plant that we took while birding at Jonas d’Abronzo's house on the Folha Seca Road near Ubatuba on October 16, 2011. Jonas has hummingbird and platform feeders on and near his covered back porch where there were chairs to sit on and watch the show of birds coming in to feed. His yard also has some lovely plantings. Temperatures were in the 70's on this cloudy afternoon with intermittent heavy rain.
