We stopped near Penedo at Agulhas Negras (Black Needles) during the afternoon of October 21, 2011, to look for Half-collared Sparrow. Brad photographed this wild Brazilian Red Pineapple, Ananas bracteatus, while we were hiking in the area. Temperatures were in the upper 60's on this partly cloudy day.
