We took this photograph of a Gray-hooded Attila (Attila rufus) while birding Intervales State Park in Brazil on October 12, 2011. Upperparts and underparts are rufous. The head is gray colored with some white streaking on the throat. Temperatures on this cloudy morning with intermittent rain were in the 60's. Intervales State Park is located on a 3,300 foot high escarpment in the State of São Paulo in the Paranapiacaba mountain range/upper Ribeira Valley, southwest of the city of São Paulo and north of Curitiba.
