We took this photograph of a Green-winged Saltator (Saltator similis) while birding along the road below Pousada Pica Pau at Intervales State Park in Brazil on October 13, 2011. This side view shows the bird's olive back, gray head and tail. Underparts are buffy. A long white supercilium and white throat bordered by black whiskers are characteristics of this species. Temperatures on this cloudy morning with intermittent rain were in the 60's.
