We were at an elevation of 2150 meters (the highest we went) on the Agulhas Negras Road in Itatiaia National Park on October 19, 2011, when Brad photographed this Greenish Tyrannulet (Phyllomyias virescens). Upperparts including crown and ear coverts are olive colored. The bill is short and stubby with a pale base to the lower mandible. Underparts shown in this frontal view are a yellowish-olive color. Temperatures were in the 60's on this partly cloudy afternoon. Itatiaia National Park is situated on the shoulders of the Serra Mantiqueria, a range of mountains that straddles the states of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
