During our last morning at Guapi Assu Bird Lodge (October 24, 2011) located on the REGUA (Reserva Ecológica de Guapiaçu) grounds, we decided to take some photos of the area. Shown here is the sunlight hitting the peaks overlooking the lodge. REGUA is about 80 Km northeast of Rio. This non-profit organization protects and patrols over 17,500 acres of lowland and foothill Atlantic Forest at elevations ranging from 30-2,000 meters in elevation within the upper Guapiaçu River basin. Temperatures were in the 70's on this clear morning with blue skies.
