We took this photograph of an endemic Orange-breasted (Red-eyed) Thornbird (Phacellodomus ferrugineigula) while birding the Sede de Pesquizas main clearing at Intervales State Park in Brazil on October 12, 2011. Upperparts are a cinnamon-brown color, while underparts are a rufous-cinnamon color. Temperatures on this cloudy morning with intermittent rain were in the 60's. Intervales State Park is located on a 3,300 foot high escarpment in the State of São Paulo in the Paranapiacaba mountain range/upper Ribeira Valley, southwest of the city of São Paulo and north of Curitiba.
