I took this photograph of Joanne while we were birding in the lowlands near Pereque in Brazil on October 18, 2011. Joanne and I had birded this same area the evening before. At that time it was pouring rain, and the river was flowing over the bridge. We really weren't comfortable with our leader telling the driver to "drive over the bridge." Luckily we made it....going and returning. Temperatures were in the upper 70's on this cloudy morning.
