Brad photographed this Red-breasted Toucan (Ramphastos dicolorus) from the pool area at the Hotel do Ype on October 20, 2011. We got good scope views of this bird that landed in a tree down-valley from us. Our photo shows the bird's white chin and throat, orange breast, red belly and tail coverts, and red orbital skin. The Red-breasted Toucan has a light greenish-colored bill. Upperparts and tail are black. Temperatures were in the 60's on this partly cloudy morning.
