Brad and I spent the late afternoon of October 22, 2011, sitting on the covered porch area of the Guapi Assu Bird Lodge watching different species of birds coming into the feeders. This Rufous-breasted Hermit, Glaucis hirsutus, has brownish to rufous colored underparts and dark green upperparts. The bird's rounded rufous tail with its dark subterminal band and white tips is shown here. Temperatures were in low 70's.
