We were birding the Agulhas Negras Road in Itatiaia National Park on October 19, 2011, when Brad photographed this Rufous-tailed Antbird, Drymophila genei, a Brazilian endemic. The male has a black crown and eyeline separated by a long whitish supercilium. A black wing-bar is edged in white dots. Upperparts are grayish, and the rump and tail are rufous. Underparts and head are whitish heavily streaked with black. The belly is rufous. Temperatures were in the 50's on this partly cloudy morning. Itatiaia National Park is situated on the shoulders of the Serra Mantiqueria, a range of mountains that straddles the states of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
