Brad photographed this Rufous-tailed Jacamar, Galbula ruficauda, while we were birding the lowlands near Pereque in Brazil on October 18, 2011. This male has a white throat and a long dark bill. The upperparts and breast are greenish, and the underparts and tail are rufous. This bird has some blue on the head and wing coverts. Temperatures were in the upper 70's on this partly cloudy morning.
