Brad photographed this Rufous-thighed Kite, Harpagus diodon, while we were birding the lowlands near Pereque in Brazil on October 18, 2011. This small kite has slate-gray underparts and darker gray upperparts. The thighs and wing linings are rufous. Temperatures were in the upper 70's on this partly cloudy morning.
