We took this photograph of a Short-crested Flycatcher (Myiarchus ferox) while birding Intervales State Park in Brazil on October 12, 2011. Upperparts are grayish with two dull gray-colored wingbars. Underparts are a light gray with a yellow wash on the belly. The bill is black. Temperatures on this cloudy morning with intermittent rain were in the 60's. Intervales State Park is located on a 3,300 foot high escarpment in the State of São Paulo in the Paranapiacaba mountain range/upper Ribeira Valley, southwest of the city of São Paulo and north of Curitiba.
