Brad photographed this Sirystes (Sirystes sibilator) from the pool area at our hotel, the Hotel do Ype, early in the morning on October 20, 2011. This flycatcher has a black crown and grayish white underparts. Wing coverts on this bird are buffy. Temperatures were in the 60's on this partly cloudy day. Itatiaia National Park is situated on the shoulders of the Serra Mantiqueria, a range of mountains that straddles the states of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
