We photographed this White-bearded Antshrike (Biatas nigropectus) while birding the Mirante das Antas Trail at Intervales State Park on October 12, 2011. The tail and wings of this male are rufous. Its head and breast are black. A complete white collar extends below the eye to the chin and throat. Temperatures on this cloudy afternoon with intermittent rain were in the 60's.
