We birded the wetlands loop at REGUA (Reserva Ecológica de Guapiaçu) during the early morning of October 23, 2011. This photo shows a White-faced Whistling-Duck, Dendrocygna viduata, with its brown and black plumage that is contrasted by its white face and throat patch. Temperatures were in the low 70's on this partly cloudy morning.
