We birded the wetlands loop at REGUA (Reserva Ecológica de Guapiaçu) during the early morning of October 23, 2011. This photo shows White-faced Whistling-Ducks, Dendrocygna viduata, with their brown and black plumage that is contrasted by a white face and throat patch. Temperatures were in the low 70's on this partly cloudy morning.
