We took this photograph of a White-winged Becard (Pachyramphus polychopterus) while birding in the Sede de Pesquizas area of Intervales State Park in Brazil on October 14, 2011. This dark, grayish-black bird has a black crown and wings with two white wing-bars. Temperatures on this cloudy morning with intermittent heavy rain were in the 60's. Intervales State Park is located on a 3,300 foot high escarpment in the State of São Paulo in the Paranapiacaba mountain range/upper Ribeira Valley, southwest of the city of São Paulo and north of Curitiba.
