We encountered this Azara's Agouti (Dasyprocta azarae) while we were birding our way to the Devil's Throat overlook during the afternoon of September 29, 2011. Temperatures were in the mid-90's on this sunny afternoon. This species is named after Spanish naturalist Félix de Azara.
