Brad and I were birding along the Poço Preto (Black Well) Road in Iguaçu Falls National Park when we photographed this Brown Capuchin Monkey, also known as Black-capped Capuchin or Tufted Capuchin. Cebus apellahas has a distinctive cap of black or dark brown fur on top of its head. It typically has dark sideburns, black tufts of fur above its ears, and dark-colored feet and hands. Capuchins are very smart and are often trained for use in movies and television shows. Temperatures on this humid morning were already in the upper 80's.
