We photographed this Saffron-billed Sparrow during the morning of October 1, 2011, while we birded the Poço Preto (Black Well) Trail near the pavillion/boat dock area in Iguaçu Falls National Park. Temperatures were in the 70's. Just after seeing this sparrow, it began to pour and continued to rain on into the evening hours. We left the area in a covered park vehicle trying to stay dry.
