This is a photo of a Southern Antpipit that we saw while birding along the Poço Preto (Black Well) Road in Iguaçu Falls National Park during the morning of September 30, 2011. Temperatures on this humid morning were in the upper 90's. The grey, olive-green back of this species is less interesting than its front which is white covered with a black necklace/smudge.
