This Southern Lapwing was feeding on the front lawn of our hotel, Hotel das Cataratas, when we were leaving to go to the Devil's Throat overlook the afternoon of September 29, 2011, with the entire pre-trip group. Temperatures were in the mid-90's on this sunny afternoon.
