Brad and I arrived at Hotel das Cataratas in Iguaçu Falls, Brazil, during the early afternoon of September 28, 2011. We birded around the front of the hotel and then walked the road to Devil's Throat. The weather was hot with temperatures in the upper 90's. Thankfully, as the sun began to set, the temperature cooled into the 70's. The Southern Lapwings were always around feeding on the front lawn of the hotel.
