We spent several hours during the morning of April 12, 2012, visiting and birding the cave and surrounding area where Che Guevara lived in 1962 during the Cuban Missile Crisis (Cueva de los Portales in Pinar del Río Province). We photographed this Erythrina tree near Che's cave. It is a species of flowering tree in the legume family, Fabaceae.
