During the morning of April 12, 2012, we had a Conservation Exchange scheduled at Sierra del Rosario Biosphere Reserve (Las Terrazas) located in the Pinar del Rio Province of Cuba. On our way there, I photographed this view of "village" living. Of note is the man in the mustard-colored outfit and yellow cap (middle of photo near the stop sign). Mustard men and women are traffic-control officers who regulate the flow of hitch-hikers (most reliable and cheapest way for Cubans to get around) from one place to another. These officers have the authority to stop government vehicles (blue auto plates) and appropriate space in/on them for traveling Cubans.
