After leaving the Galapagos, we flew into Guayaquil, Ecuador. The city is situated in the humid Pacific lowlands and provided us views of native forest that were different than the cloud forest we'd seen in the Andes. During the late afternoon we birded Cerro Blanco, a private reserve of native forest owned and preserved by a cement-making company. It was a cloudy day with temperatures in the low 90's.
